Mission
By the power of the Holy Spirit, and in authentic relationships with mid councils, we seek to equip, nurture and support church leaders to empower their congregations to renew, recover and live more fully into faithful discipleship to Jesus Christ.

Purpose
The purpose of the Vital Congregations Initiative is to work alongside leaders of existing congregations continually assessing, discerning and living into faithful actions that increase vitality through intentional spiritual practices that take them deeper into following Jesus Christ, so that their own lives are changed, congregations are transformed, and the mission of God spreads throughout particular communities and the world.

To strive toward creating a renewed faith in all believers that God is the author and creator of all possibilities for the Church of Jesus Christ.
To seek practical ways to transform lives and ministries for the building of the Kingdom of God.
To equip and empower congregational leaders and pastors to entrust and utilize the God-given spiritual gifts to all people for the ministry work through the church.
The good news of the Gospel is that the triune God (The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) creates, redeems, sustains, rules and transforms all things and all people (PCUSA, Book of Order F-1.01).
Jesus is the Head of the Church and with God “Nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37). He is the Head of the Body, the Church; ..., so that He might come to have first place in everything (Colossians 1: 18).
