Dear Members of Trinity Presbytery,
The 219th General Assembly finished its work on Saturday, July 10. Trinity Presbytery was represented at the Assembly by six dedicated Commissioners (the Reverends Bob Fuller, Robyn McMullen, & Danny Murphy and Elders Debra Gray, Bright Lowry, & Judy Lowry) and an equally committed Young Adult Advisory Delegate, Caroline Sherard, who was elected co-moderator of the YAADs. These along with 726 other Commissioners considered the many forms of ministry and mission that the PC(USA) will perform over the next two years while taking time out to celebrate the successes of our denomination's recent past. Many of you took time to pray for our Commissioners and the whole Assembly as it received reports and shaped policies. We are very thankful for those prayers and for your other expressions of support.
Various reports and summaries of the actions of the Assembly are available, especially on the Church's website at www.pcusa.org/ga219. Trinity Presbytery's staff will hold conversations in several areas of the presbytery as the year progresses focusing on the items that will eventually be voted upon by Commissioners to presbytery. Meanwhile, we would like to call your attention to a pastoral letter from the GA Moderator, Elder Cynthia Bolbach, Stated Clerk, Gradye Parsons, and others sent to all the congregations in the PC(USA).
