| Communication News |
The Presbyterian Communication Network is hosting a regional conference October 18-20 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. This event will cover such topics as having a communication plan for your church, internet security, web-empowering your congregation, and much more. These regional conferences are filled with ideas on how churches of all sizes can use communication techniques that fit their circumstances. It is an excellent resource for learning safe and proven ways of enhancing existing communication practices. Participants will discover new and better ways of connecting with their congregants. Click here for more information.
Speaking of connecting, you may have noticed that I use Constant Contact for this publication. It is a great tool for producing newsletters, flyers, announcements - all manner of communication needs. I use it in conjunction with our website: uploading documents that you download from E-News, linking to our site for more information or for registration for events, publicizing workshops, etc. Have you thought about having something like this for your church newsletter? If so, I would be glad to talk with you or even show you how easy it is. A website is not absolutely necessary to have in order to use it, but is a real plus if you want to put up forms, flyers, or links to other church news. The presbytery has contracted with the company that produced our website to offer our churches special pricing on a website of their own. If you are interested in either talking with me about Constant Contact or creating a website, please call me anytime.
--Margaret Harris - 800-321-4124 or 794-1225
PS: I'm going to the conference in October. Would love to have your church join me!

| Our Presbytery in Action |
In the last E-News, pictures of McGregor Presbyterian's Habitat Team were featured. Here we see Providence Presbyterian, West Columbia, in action. The two teams worked in the same area of the North Carolina mountains, but at different times.
Working on a Habitat House is never easy. But the hilly terrain presents challenges that are not encountered on flat land. It is exhausting work at times. Here, a group take a much needed break.
From the mountains to the sea...
Recently a group representing Trinity Presbytery attended the New Church Development Conference. It was held in August in St. Petersburg, Florida. The focus was to excite and energize, equip folks with tools to do new church development and to inspire with new ideas. From all accounts, it was time well spent! Here is a picture of the group at the conference.
